SEATTLE, Wash (AP) -Attorneys for Seattle Mayor Ed Murray have formally denied sexual abuse accusations and asked a lawsuit against him be dismissed.
The Seattle Times reports Delvonn Heckard of Seattle filed the lawsuit in April claiming Murray raped and molested him decades ago as a drug addicted teen.
The mayor’s attorneys argue Heckard had failed to state a legitimate claim in the lawsuit and that the claims are barred by Washington’s statute of limitations.
Murray has repeatedly rejected accusations from Heckard and three other men.
