SEATTLE, Wash. — A Seattle pet-sitting company and former “Baywatch” actress are facing a lawsuit after a dog died last year.
KOMO reports the owners of “Snoopy,” a Papillon dog, say pet-sitting company “Rover,” which provides services in different parts of the country, was negligent in its background checks of pet-sitters.
Attorney Robert Tauler says the sitter, Angelica Bridges, didn’t have her yard fenced-in properly, allowing Snoopy to wander off and get hit by a car.
Tauler says the company also did not provide guaranteed insurance coverage to his clients after the dog’s death.
A spokesperson for Rover tells KOMO they can’t comment on the case yet, but said the company does run background checks, safety assessments and requires images of home where the sitter will watch the dogs.
They also said they were heartbroken by Snoopy’s death and made extensive efforts to contact and help the family.
