UPDATE:
SEATTLE, WASH. (AP) – In recent years, Seattle has seen large, disruptive May Day gatherings, but this year was different.
“It has been a day where people have expressed their First Amendment rights peacefully, for the most part,” Mayor Ed Murray says.
He says one arrest came as Trump supporters known as the Proud Boys faced off against members of the anti-fascist Black Block group.
By the end of the night, Seattle police had arrested five people for various offenses.
Murray says it was the smallest May Day he’s seen as mayor.
