SEATTLE, Wash. – Seattle will be on the world stage as a host city for the 2026 World Cup.
FIFA announced the host cities for World Cup soccer matches Thursday, June 16th.
Mayor Bruce Harrell tweeted that it will be a chance to “show the world what makes Seattle exceptional.”
KING 5 reports that estimates show that hosting World Cup games could bring Seattle an economic boost of $90 million to $100 million.
Other Western Region cities are Vancouver BC, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Guadalajara, Mexico.
