SEATTLE, Wash. — There’s another new baby orca in Puget Sound.

The Center for Whale Research texted the news to the Seattle Times.

Director Ken Balcomb wrote that the sighting was made in Canadian waters and they’ll have to wait until the whales return before they determine the new baby’s sex or condition.

It’s the second baby orca born in J-Pod this month after the whale known as Tahlequah gave birth to a male calf on September 4th.

Researchers saw that baby thriving with his mother near Point Roberts last Tuesday.
