BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Police arrested a 16-year-old student in connection with threats to Sehome High School that disrupted classes and caused tensionĀ throughout the school district.
Several students reported receiving a message via airdrop on December 6th that there was a bomb in the school.
School administrators put safety protocols in place and contacted Bellingham Police who began an investigation into the threat.
Students reported receiving another threat on December 8th and the investigation led to the 16-year-old boy.
He and his parents were contacted Friday, December 10th and officers arrested him on a felony charge of threatening to bomb or injure property.
Police have also arrested different 16-year-old Sehome student for having a Glock replica airsoft gun at the school on December 3rd.
Schools around the district have explained and discussed the threats with students.
Bellingham Schools Superintendent Dr. Greg Baker says the district continues to investigate threatening and harassing social media accounts and is offering support to any student who feels threatened or intimidated.
