SEDRO-WOOLLEY, Wash. — Plans for Sedro-Woolley’s next major park project are well underway.

An open house for the new Olmsted Park was held Wednesday and featured the latest design drawings.
The park, to be built at the entrance of the SWIFT Center, will feature several loop trails, four picnic shelters, restrooms, a caretaker’s residence and volleyball and basketball courts.
Public Works Operations Supervisor Nathan Salseina told the Skagit Valley Herald he’s most excited the proposed trail to Thompson Pond will comply with Americans with Disabilities Act accessibility guidelines.
The city will seek a state grant for the project to supplement existing funds.
If grant funding is awarded in 2021, construction could be done in 2022.
