SEDRO WOOLLEY, Wash. – A teacher from Sedro Woolley has been nominated for a national award.
Shameem Sherwin, a fifth grade STEM and social studies teacher at Evergreen Elementary, was nominated for the Presidential Award for Excellence in Teaching.
Sherwin is one of four teachers from Washington nominated for the award.
Finalists will travel to Washington, DC to receive a $10,000 award and a certificate signed by the President.
