VANCOUVER, Wash. — U.S. Senators for Washington Maria Cantwell and Patty Murray are cosponsoring a Senate resolution expressing no confidence in EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt and calling for his resignation.
They join a group of 170 members of Congress in signing such resolutions in the House and Senate.
The resolutions, which Cantwell and Murray signed Tuesday, claim Pruitt has repeated ethical violations, misused taxpayer dollars and undermined the mission of the EPA in favor of what they call big polluters.
39 Senators are cosponsoring the resolution, which they say is the most ever to sign a resolution formally calling for a cabinet official to resign.
