BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Bellingham shelters are extending their services in response to the forecasts of more snow and cold weather.

Emergency shelters opened in Bellingham ahead of the snow this weekend and the City of Bellingham reports they have decided to stay open at least through Tuesday.

The Lighthouse Mission Ministries and Fountain Community Church reported they were nearly full Sunday night with 182 guests and 210 available beds.

The City also made a meeting room at the downtown library available during the day for women staying in the night shelter at Fountain Community Church.
