BELLINGHAM, Wash. — The Coast Guard has given up the marine search for a man missing near Lummi Island but the sheriff’s department is continuing to look for Nick Saling on land.
The 53-year-old was reported missing at about 11:30 AM Monday morning after he set off for Cypress Island on Sunday.
Saling’s 25-foot yellow sailboat was located northeast of Lummi Island.
The Whatcom County Sheriff’s office tells the Bellingham Herald its officers are continuing to look for Saling on land near where his boat was found.
