Sheriff’s Office gets large donation of trauma kits from local organization

WHATCOM COUNTY, Wash. – A community organization in Whatcom County’s Columbia Valley has stepped up to support the Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office.

Spokesperson Deb Slater said that the Foothills Community Alliance recently donated 60 trauma kits, that will allow all deputies to provide first aid while on patrol.

The Alliance said that the donation came as a response to the February 10th incident where two Whatcom Deputies were shot in the line of duty.

Trauma kits include gloves, bandages, tourniquets, and other compact medical equipment.
