FERNDALE, Wash. – The Whatcom County Sheriff’s Department has released the identity of the man who was hit and killed as he walked on Portal Way near Ferndale last Thursday, September 15th.
Investigators say 49-year-old Dennis Genrich of Bellingham was walking in the roadway while wearing dark clothing when he was hit at about 5:30 a.m.
The driver of the pick-up truck that hit him was on his way to work and was not found to be driving under the influence.
