FERNDALE, Wash. – The Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public for help in identifying a suspect who opened fire during a road rage incident last Thursday, October 13th.
The crime took place Thursday afternoon on Slater Road near the Nooksack River bridge when a man fired two shots from his vehicle, striking a second vehicle, before speeding away.
Whatcom County Dispatch had already received calls about the road raging drivers when the driver of the struck car called 911 to report the shooting.
The shooter is described as a shorter, heavier-set Native or Hispanic male in his 20’s, with short dark hair.
The suspect’s vehicle is said to be a maroon SUV with a broken driver’s side mirror, tinted windows and tinted rear license plate cover.
