BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Lights flashed and sirens blared as a string of patrol cars and fire trucks from Whatcom County rolled down Meridian Street early Sunday morning, but this time it was good news.
Officers, Deputies, Troopers, Park Rangers, Fire Fighters, support staff and families from departments all over Whatcom County were greeted by over 40 children waiting to meet their partner for the annual Shop-with-a-Cop event at Walmart, an event that pairs first responders with children from low-income families.
The festivities included breakfast, photos with Santa, and of course, the kids picking out goodies for themselves while hanging out with their new friends.
Bellingham Police report a good time was had by all.
