BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Sehome High School went into a precautionary lockout Tuesday afternoon, but police say there was no active threat to the school or its students.

A student called 911 to report a “concerning situation” near campus to police and the school went into lockout around 12:45 out of an abundance of caution.

No details were released on the reported situation, but the school was in lockout until regular dismissal at 3:15 and after-school activities weren’t affected.

Lockouts are used when a possible threat is reported outside.

Schools lock all perimeter doors, but classes continue as normal.
