BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Shuksan Healthcare Center is accepting new residents who have tested positive for COVID-19 in an effort to ease the burden on our region’s hospitals.
The Bellingham-based skilled nursing facility suffered an outbreak of the disease, which resulted in at least 31 infections and 10 deaths among residents.
For that reason, Shuksan says their team has become skilled at providing care to COVID-19 patients.
Shuksan announced that they have converted one wing of their facility into a COVID-19 positive-only wing and they are set to begin accepting new COVID-19 positive residents in coordination with DSHS and the Whatcom County Health Department.
