SEATTLE, Wash. (AP) — The rentable electric scooters that have popped up in cities throughout the country could appear in Seattle next year.
Mayor Jenny Durkan says her administration will allow a pilot program for scooter shares.
The Seattle Times reports the city has previously banned the foot scooters, and city law prohibits their use on sidewalks and bicycle lanes.
In an essay for GeekWire, Mayor Durkan praised the city’s bike share program and discussed how she plans to implement the scooters while dealing with safety and liability issues.
