OLYMPIA, Wash. — After a mild start the flu season is starting to pick up.

The Washington State Department of Health says health care facilities are starting to see an increase in flu-like illnesses.

KING 5 reports there have been six flu-related deaths in Washington so far this season, compared to about 20 at this time last year.

There were a total of 300 flu-related deaths in the state during the entire season last year.

The health department says it’s not too late to get immunized against the flu.
