MOUNT VERNON, Wash. — Renters in Skagit County have a new online resource available: a new website to help with COVID-19 rent and utility assistance.
The site lets residents determine if they are eligible for assistance and puts them in contact with nonprofit partners.
County spokesperson Danica Sessions told the Skagit Valley Herald that website takes the legwork out of applying for help.
Households in Skagit County with an income at or below 80% of the area median income qualify if someone in the household has experienced a reduction in income, incurred significant costs or experienced financial hardship during the COVID-19 pandemic and is either behind on rent or anticipates being unable to pay future rent.
For full details of the program, along with a link to apply, are available at https://skagitcounty.net/renthelp.
