MOUNT VERNON, Wash. — A drive-through coronavirus testing site is opening in Skagit County next week.

A spokesperson for the county’s unified emergency response team said testing is set to begin Tuesday in the parking lot of McIntyre Hall on the Skagit Valley College campus in Mount Vernon.

The Skagit Valley Herald reports priority will go to first responders and health care workers, partly because of their greater risk of exposure and partly to act as a test run.

County officials say the plan is to open the site to the general public on April 27 with a goal of testing 100 people per day.
