MOUNT VERNON, Wash. — A man serving four life sentences for a shooting spree from Alger to Mount Vernon nearly 10-years-ago, will serve the rest of his time in a state prison now that his mental health is deemed manageable.

The Skagit Valley Herald reports Isaac Zamora pled guilty to four counts of murder and not guilty by reason of insanity to two others.

The Department of Health and Human services has been handling Zamora, but the state believes the Department of Corrections can manage his mental health issues and move him to a state prison.

Zamora killed a Skagit County deputy and five other people during the rampage.
