MOUNT VERNON, Wash. — Skagit County’s Department of Emergency Management wants public comment on their newly-updated natural hazard mitigation plan.

Emergency Management reviewed risks from natural hazards such as volcanoes and tsunamis when creating the plan to keep communities safe.

The plan is updated every five years to make the county eligible for certain types of mitigation and disaster response funding.

The plan can be reviewed online, or at the Anacortes, Mount Vernon, and Sedro-Woolley libraries.
