MOUNT VERNON, Wash. — The Skagit County Sheriff’s office is warning of a vaccine scam making the rounds.
Officials say scammers are calling individuals posing as a ‘Skagit County Representative’ to sign individuals up for a vaccine appointment- then asking for personal information such as mother’s maiden name or social security numbers to confirm the appointment.
Skagit Public health says if you get a call you are not sure of, hang up and call them back at their published number to confirm you were speaking with the department.
