MOUNT VERNON, Wash. — The COVID-19 testing site in Skagit County has been temporarily closed due to wildfire smoke.

Skagit County Public Health temporarily shut down its drive-thru testing site at Skagit Valley College at least through Friday,

The Skagit Valley Herald reports the closure could be extended into next week if air quality doesn’t improve.

The state Department of Ecology expects air quality to worsen Friday in Skagit County as smoke from wildfires along the west coast travels north.
