FERNDALE, Wash. – The City of Ferndale has received a grant that will allow it to build a new skate park.
The total grant of $480,000 will be supplemented by funding provided by the City and private donors.
The skate park’s name — Metalworks Skate Park — pays tribute to Ferndale’s industrial roots and the art and design of the 10,000 square foot park.
The skate park will be located off Second Avenue directly adjacent to the Phillips 66 Sports Complex and within sight of the Star Park playground.
Design work will begin this summer with construction anticipated in 2022.
