BELLINGHAM, Wash. — 350 teams are competing in this year’s Ski to Sea today. For the first time in its 46-year history, racers will be able to compete in up to three legs for one team. Individual team members will also be allowed to compete for multiple teams.

312 teams finished 2017, and 318 teams finished in 2016. We are eager to keep an eye on the BOOMER’S DRIVE IN team who finished first with a time of 05:58 and BEAVERS TREE SERVICE who finished second last year with a time of 06:01.

BEAVERS TREE SERVICE finished first in 2016 in loving memory of their departed teammate who passed away suddenly before the race.

The conditions today are choice on the mountain with plenty of snow and light winds. At the finish, it’s expected to be mostly sunny and 68 degrees with light winds giving the kayakers up to one foot waves.
