MOUNT BAKER, Wash. – A helicopter had to airlift a man off Heliotrope Ridge in the Mount Baker area.
The Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office says a Whidbey Island Naval Air Station crew brought the man to Harborview Hospital in Seattle with a broken leg.
The call came in at about 3:00PM Saturday afternoon.
A Bellingham Mountain Rescue team climbed up to the skiier at the 5,400 foot level.
The helicpoter finally got there at about 9:30 and plucked the 45-year-old Seattle man off the mountain.
