OLYMPIA, Wash. — As wildfire season worsens, plan ahead for smoky days.
The State Department of Health says simple steps to prepare include asking your doctor about medical precautions and buying a portable air cleaner.
People under 18, over 65, pregnant women, smokers and those with past or present heart, lung or respiratory issues are at risk for health problems when air quality is poor.
You can monitor the air quality of Bellingham and areas around Washington at the Department of Ecology, AirNow, Weather Underground, and the Northwest Clean Air Agency.
