EVERETT, Wash. — Starting next year, Snohomish County will no longer provide the drug that reverses the effects of an opioid overdose to local law enforcement.
According to the Everett Herald, the county spends up to $50,000 a year on Naloxone through a pilot program that was launched with federal grants.
Money dedicated to supplying Naloxone is drying up, so cities must come up with a way to pay for it themselves, track the drug’s expiration, and train new officers.
The county will replace all Naloxone kits until December 31st.
