MOUNT VERNON, Wash. – A sheriff’s deputy who drove through a stop sign, causing a crash that resulted in a man’s legs being amputated is sentenced.
The Snohomish County Deputy pled guilty and will spend a month on work release and another month on home monitoring.
The Daily Herald reports John Sadro worked for Snohomish County when he was driving a witness to the county courthouse for a trial in 2015.
He was broadsided as he sped through a stop sign. His patrol car wound up pinning a pedestrian against a truck.
The pedestrian had to have his legs amputated.
The county paid the man and his wife more than $14 million.
