SEATTLE, Wash. — A Snohomish County man is recovering at Harborview Medical Center after a terrible snowmobile crash on Mount Baker broke his leg.
“[I] hit a bad chunk of snow, and the sled with all that force rolled faster than you could think and snapped my leg,” he says.
Kirk LeDoux tells KIRO he then radioed his friends who, along with another dozen nearby sledders, helped stabilize him and called for rescue.
On Facebook, LeDoux says he suffered a double compound fracture, went into shock, and was bleeding and freezing after the crash.
“I can’t thank you all enough for your kind words and outright help . . . all your thoughts and prayers have really helped and meant a lot to me,” he writes.
LeDoux’s crash was one of two Sunday in the Schriebers Meadow area.
