BAKER LAKE, Wash. – Sockeye salmon are returning to Baker Lake in a big way.
The hatchery at the lake released three-quarters-of-a-million sockeye two years ago.
KING-T-V reports fish managers expect 30-thousand of them to come back by the end of the season.
Compare that to less than a-hundred in 1985.
More than a-million sockeye were released this year and the expectation is that more than 52-thousand will be back in 2019.
