BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Solar panels will be used to light up Bellingham’s popular sightseeing destination Taylor Dock.
Puget Sound Energy says zero emissions will be involved in the delivery of several panels on Wednesday because they’ll be transported from Bellingham’s Itek Energy via bike and kayak.
Twenty-eight solar panels will be installed on the roof of the Taylor Dock shelter to power the lights of the boardwalk, followed by a celebration at 2:30.
Bellingham was awarded the solar panels for supporting Puget Sound Energy’s Green Power program, helping customers match their energy with renewable energy.
