BELLINGHAM, WASH. – When it comes to students with required vaccinations, Bellingham and Mt. Baker School Districts don’t make the grade.
They’re below the state average for required vaccinations and above the state average for exemptions and students out of compliance.
All districts except Lummi are below the state average for required vaccinations.
Nooksack, Meridian and Lummi are the only districts below the state average for exemptions and Lynden is at the state average.
Just Blaine and Ferndale are under the state average for students who are out of compliance.
The State Department of Health reports 85 percent of Washington kindergartners have required vaccinations.
About 5 percent have an exemption for medical, personal, or religions reasons.
Around 8 percent are out of compliance with requirements.
