TACOMA, Wash. (AP) — A Spanaway woman has pleaded not guilty to drugging a new mother after prosecutors say she posed as a photographer in a complex plot to kidnap the woman’s baby.

38-year-old Juliette Parker pleaded not guilty Tuesday to attempted kidnapping and assault in Pierce County Superior Court.

New mother Elysia Miller told KOMO the incident left her shaken.

The Pierce County Sheriff’s Department says Parker connected with mothers through a Facebook group and offered to do free photo shoots of newborns to build her portfolio.

Miller says Parker gave her a drugged cupcake during a visit earlier this month but she was able to get her out of her house and call 911.
