OLYMPIA, Wash. — Washington’s insurance commissioner is opening a special enrollment window for residents who don’t have health insurance.

Mike Kreidler has ordered all insurance carriers that offer plans through the state’s exchange to accept new applications between next Monday, February 15th and May 15th.

This mirrors the three month special enrollment period for the federal marketplace established by the Biden administration.

People who buy a plan through the Washington state exchange may be eligible for federal help with the cost of premiums.
