OLYMPIA, Wash. — Millions of dollars in federal grant money is available for projects involving specialty crops.

The Washington State Department of Agriculture is now accepting applications for the 2020 Specialty Crop Block Grant Program.

Specialty crops include fruits, vegetables, tree nuts, dried fruits, horticulture, nursery crops and flowers.

Projects should benefit specialty crops as a whole rather than providing profit to a business.

In 2018, Sustainable Connections was awarded a grant for a project addressing unsold produce in Whatcom and Skagit Counties.

Grant applications can be found on the WSDA website.
