SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) – Two Spokane psychologists involved in designing the CIA’s harsh interrogation program settled a lawsuit against them.

The ACLU called it a historic victory, and said it’s the first time the CIA is being held accountable for torturing suspects.

ACLU attorney Emily Chiang told KOMO one torture victim froze to death. “What happened to these men, I think it’s safe to say, should happen to no one in any decent government system,” Chiang said.

The ACLU filed the lawsuit on behalf of three former detainees.
