BELLINGHAM, Wash. – You’ll soon see the first woman Zamboni driver ever on the Bellingham Sportsplex’s ice.
C.J. Good, who is a Cascade Radio Group account executive, bid on and won a Zamboni lesson at a recent charity auction.
She says she loved it. “It went amazing, so amazing that I asked if I could continue to do it,” Good said. “Sure enough, they needed somebody on the weekends.”
She needs 50 practice runs under her belt before she can officially take to the ice. “It’s an art. I would say it’s harder than mowing the lawn,” Good said. “You could really do damage to the ice, there’s more of a technicality to it.”
So on a weekend in the not-too-distant future you’ll see C.J. Good, the first female Zamboni driver, smoothing the ice.
