BELLINGHAM, Wash. — A Lynden insurance agency is closing its Bellingham office in favor of a mobile-friendly framework for employees.
Snapper Shuler Kenner Insurance announced the shift Monday saying the change will make meetings more convenient for clients while eliminating commute time for employees and reducing the agency’s carbon footprint.
A recent study by Educated Driver reports Bellingham residents spend about 42 minutes commuting to and from work every day.
SSK Insurance Executive Vice President Daun Botta Pillo says telecommuting employees spend less time driving and more time on focused working and benefits include increased morale and productivity.
The company plans to shut down their Bellingham office next month, though the Lynden base will remain open.
