WHATCOM COUNTY, Wash. – A stage one burn ban goes into effect in Whatcom County on Saturday, July 16th, at 8 a.m.
That means all burning of yard debris and for land clearing is prohibited.
Issued burn permits are also suspended.
Recreational fires using seasoned firewood or charcoal are allowed in approved enclosures.
They must be kept away from vegetation and buildings and water must be on hand.
