WHATCOM COUNTY, Wash. – Continued cool, stagnant air conditions have now prompted a burn ban in Whatcom County’s Columbia Valley.

The Northwest Clean Air Agency has issued the ban on all indoor and outdoor wood burning in the area including the Peaceful Valley and Paradise Lakes developments.

The agency does allow exemptions for residents with low incomes or whose only source of heat is burning wood.

Exemptions are only made for primary residences and are not allowed for garages, shops or outbuildings.
