CONCRETE, Wash. — Two people are dead after troopers say a driver crashed his car into a tree along Baker Lake Road, north of Concrete.

The State Patrol says the two men from Stanwood were southbound on Baker Lake Road just after noon on Tuesday when the driver, 74-year-old John Allan Gore, drifted over the center line and struck a tree.

Gore’s passenger, a 65-year-old man from Stanwood, was also pronounced dead at the scene, but his name has not been released pending next of kin notification.

Troopers are investigating what caused the accident and don’t know if drugs or alcohol were involved.
