SEATTLE, Wash. — Starbucks is closing more U.S. stores due to low sales.

The Seattle-based corporation announced Tuesday that 150 underperforming stores will be closed next year.

Starbucks said the recent uproar over the arrest of two black men at a Philadelphia Starbucks may have affected sales.

Stores postponed cold beverage marketing while Starbucks addressed the controversy.

Starbucks has more than 13,000 locations nationwide and eighteen are in Whatcom County.
