OLYMPIA, Wash. — Washington state is adopting the CDC’s new quarantine guidelines.

The state DOH and the CDC still recommend a quarantine period of 14 days, but there are circumstances that allow for a shortened quarantine.

If a person in quarantine has no symptoms, they can end quarantining after 10 days.

If they have no symptoms and a negative COVID-19 test, they can end quarantining after 7 days.

But both agencies say its critical to continue monitoring symptoms and wearing a mask for the full 14 days to completely avoid transmitting the infection.
