OLYMPIA, Wash. — Two new state coronavirus relief funds announced Tuesday are intended to help immigrants without legal status and certain agricultural workers.

The Food Production Paid leave program will provide $3 million to certain food production workers who remain home when ill.

The Immigrant Relief Fund will be administered by a non-profit selected by the state with payments of $1000 per person who qualifies.

A Washington Joint Information center release says the $40 million is earmarked for people who do not qualify for federal relief funds due to “immigration status” while being “disproportionately impacted by the pandemic”.
