OLYMPIA, Wash. – Legislative leaders say they’re getting closer to an agreement on a new two-year state budget, but they still have work to do.
If a new budget isn’t signed into law by midnight Friday, a partial government shutdown starts July 1st.
KOMO reports that could mean unsupervised criminals on the street and closures at State Parks.
“Almost all offenders out in the community will not be supervised, and most of these are high-risk offenders.”
“Good families, like myself, will suffer, but I’m really concerned about, it’s estimated that 1.4 million overnight and day-use guests will be affected.”
