OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) — Those struggling to pay their energy bills amid the pandemic are getting another break.
The state Utilities and Transportation Commission extended a moratorium on utility disconnections due to outstanding balances.
A previous order preventing investor-owned energy utilities from disconnecting customers that was set to expire on April 30 has been extended to July 31.
In addition, utilities will continue to waive late fees and deposits through January 27, 2022.
