OLYMPIA, Wash. — Funding schools and fixing the state’s struggling mental health system are top priorities for the upcoming legislative session.

Redmond Democrat Senator Manka Dhingra says, “We are in a crisis when it comes to mental health in this state.”

Republican Representative Joe Schmick says behavioral health is a long-term problem and they need to come out of the session with a plan.

Governor Inslee, however, said his top priorities are climate change, working on behavioral health, and saving the orcas.
